In the previous study, the project team interviewed villagers from Yim Tin Tsai and alumni of Ching Po School, listening to their stories of living and studying on the island as children. Through these little anecdotes, we see the close connection between the village community and nature. The villagers relied on the island's natural resources and habitats for survival, including essential needs like food, water, and firewood, as well as resources used in religious rituals, medicine, and entertainment. If you are interested to learn about how villagers interacted with nature in the past, feel free to explore the story map produced from the previous study (Link: https://www.yttstorytelling.org/storymap), which includes not only textual descriptions but also beautiful illustrations and audio narration!

We believe that the island still hosts a rich variety of species within its existing diverse habitats. Therefore, we aim to gain a more comprehensive understanding of Yim Tin Tsai's biodiversity through this study to promote the conservation of these precious natural resources.
